The monthly meeting of the members of the Greater Poland Capital Club took place on February 5th at our factory. We were pleased to welcome representatives of Greater Poland's business community to a place that has been shaping the history of Polish industry for generations.
The invitation was extended by Jerzy Woliński, President of the Management Board of H. Cegielski – Fabryka Pojazdów Szynowych, whom the Club officially welcomed into its ranks during the January meeting.
A tour of the plant and a story about our history
The tour of our plants was an opportunity to see up close the work of a factory currently undergoing one of the most important transformation processes in its history.
The guests were welcomed by the company's Management Board, composed of: Jerzy Woliński, President of the Management Board; Wojciech Pyka, Member of the Management Board for Finance; and Piotr Wasilewski, Member of the Management Board for Technical Affairs. Paweł Bugajny and Karina Plejer from WKK then spoke. Jarosław Nowak, Sales Director at FPS, recalled the most important moments in the history of our organization. We are located in a factory whose history dates back 180 years, when Hipolit Cegielski opened his first store in the Poznań Bazaar. Since then, the plant has undergone many transformations, specializing in, among other things, the production of rail vehicles – the pillar of today's business. he stressed.
Over 60 Club members participated in a tour of the production halls, having the opportunity to see and literally touch the wagons modernized by FPS.
Joanna Małecka-Wenz, leader of the Communication and Promotion Department, and her team ensured the smooth running of the meeting.
Anniversary year for FPS
It is worth emphasizing that:
- This year marks the 105th anniversary of the production of the first freight wagon,
- 100th anniversary of the production of the first large steam locomotive,
- The history of the factory is inextricably intertwined with great history, as evidenced by, among others, the events of the Poznań June 1956.
We would like to thank the Wielkopolska Capital Club for their presence and inspiring meeting. We are pleased to have been able to share our experience and show you behind the scenes of the factory, which has been contributing to the development of railways in Poland for over a century.
