H. Cegielski – Fabryka Pojazdów Szynowych Spółka z o. o. will present a 2nd class compartment car after thorough modernization during this year's InnoTrans trade fair in Berlin.

In November 2017, the Company concluded an agreement with PKP Intercity SA for the modernization of 60 passenger rail cars, currently research and tests are underway to obtain homologation of the vehicles in domestic passenger traffic. The first cars modernized in the Poznań factory will hit the tracks this year.

The basis for the modernization is the well-known 111A carriage, from which only the body was used. The changes in the vehicle are visible to the naked eye both outside and inside.

One of the most important features of the modernized car is its equipment with completely new 25AN4 type bogies manufactured by FPS, ensuring proper smooth running, which translates into better passenger comfort. Other projects implemented by PKP Intercity SA were basically based on the modernization of old bogies built under the cars.

The new paintwork is consistent with the carrier's current colors, a novelty is the introduction of a black stripe in the window line, previously known only from new cars. The vehicle's interior has gained a modern look, the compartments are equipped with comfortable and ergonomic seats, electrical sockets and panels allowing to control the temperature and lighting. The toilet compartments have been rebuilt using a closed toilet system. In the entire space of the vehicle we have the possibility of connecting to the Wi-Fi network, a stable signal of mobile networks is provided by GSM amplifiers. Information important for passengers is provided by the passenger information system.
The new air conditioning system ensures the right temperature inside the car. All vehicle parameters can be obtained from the modern on-board diagnostic system both in the vehicle and remotely. The car is powered by a new static converter. The materials and devices used in the vehicle meet the highest quality standards.

The facelift is an interesting example of a balance between the technical and functional scope of the changes and their price. It is certainly a vehicle worth seeing at the fair.
