Fabryka Pojazdów Szynowych – H. Cegielski Sp. z o. o., a company belonging to the ARP Capital Group, signed today an agreement with the Lubuskie Voivodeship for the delivery of six electric multiple units (EZT) from the Plus family.

The value of the contract is PLN 245 million, and its implementation is a significant step in the development of the Polish railway industry.

"In FPS, nearly 90% of components come from Polish industry - this is proof of the strength of regional supply chains. The value of public procurement related to the development of domestic industry cannot be overestimated. We make sure that managers of state-owned companies remember about local suppliers, because this builds a strong Polish economy. I am glad that modern, Polish ETZs will carry passengers, and investments in rolling stock will make up for many years of neglect."
Robert Kropiwnicki, Secretary of State at the Ministry of State Assets

A breakthrough moment for the Polish rail industry

The signed agreement means that FPS Cegielski has started serial production of EZTs, which significantly strengthens the company's position on the rolling stock market in Poland. It is also a historic step, as the company is expanding its offer with a new product category for the first time in years.

"Today's agreement is another milestone not only for FPS Cegielski, but for the entire ARP Capital Group, just after the historic contract for the delivery of vehicles to PKP Intercity. Both contracts confirm the competences of Agencja Rozwoju Przemysłu SA in the development of modern rail transport and significantly contribute to strengthening regional mobility. This is proof that the Polish rail industry is able to deliver world-class solutions, building the competitiveness of our economy." - Wojciech Balczun, President of the Management Board of ARP SA

New quality in regional transport

The delivered EZTs, with a length of up to 82 meters and a maximum speed of 160 km/h, will significantly increase the comfort of travel for residents of the Lubuskie province. Each traction unit will accommodate 180 passengers on permanent seats and will be equipped with Wi-Fi systems, monitoring, dynamic passenger information and toilets adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.

"We are proud that our vehicles will serve the residents of the Lubuskie Province. This contract confirms the enormous potential of the Polish rail industry and the readiness of FPS Cegielski to meet the highest standards. Thanks to cooperation with the ARP Group and investments in modern technologies, we are taking another step in the development of the Polish railway."
Grzegorz Kucia, President of the Management Board of FPS Cegielski
