Modern FPS vehicles for the Lublin Voivodeship
H. Cegielski – Rail Vehicle Factory will complete the contract for new electric multiple unit trains

We are pleased to announce that H. Cegielski – Fabryka Pojazdów Szynowych Sp. z o.o. has been selected as the contractor in the tender procedure announced by the Marshal's Office of the Lublin Voivodeship for the supply of four modern, zero-emission Electric Multiple Units (EMUs).

The contract is worth nearly 192,4 million zlotys covers the delivery of vehicles until 3 October 2029 yearThe new EMUs will be designed to operate regional passenger connections on electrified routes in the Lublin Voivodeship and on routes beyond its borders, including towards Stalowa Wola and Siedlce.

The new vehicles offer significantly improved travel comfort and increased capacity:

  • 176 seats (80% more than the current lineups),

  • capacity to transport 16 bicycles,

  • two toilets, including one adapted to the needs of people with disabilities,

  • facilities for families with children, including changing tables,

  • maximum speed up to 160 km/h.

It is estimated that four new vehicles will transport up to over 1,3 million passengers.

Cegielski – Fabryka Pojazdów Szynowych. "I believe that, following the Lubusz and Lublin Voivodeships, other regions will also choose our innovative solutions."

The choice of the FPS offer was also appreciated by representatives of the Industrial Development Agency SA
"This is not only a business success, but also a significant step in the development of sustainable mobility in Poland. We are proud that companies in our group are modernizing the Polish railways," added Bartłomiej Babuśka, acting President of the Industrial Development Agency (ARP S.A.).

The purchase of new vehicles is part of a wider investment project implemented under the Railway+ Programme, the budget of which in the region amounts to approximately 4,5 billion zlotys and includes, among others, investments on the following routes:

  • Lublin – Łęczna

  • Szastarka – Janów Lubelski – Biłgoraj

  • Chełm – Włodawa

  • Łuków – Lublin (electrification)

  • Rejowiec – Zawada – Zamość Szopinek (with the construction of a connecting road bypassing the Zawada station)
